This is my friend Hedelyn. She lives in Copenhagen but she is originally from Augusan del Norte which is in the southern part of the Philippines. She learned to be persistent despite adversity. We’ve run two marathons together; both times she was returning after injuries. She believes that scars and bruises lead to medals. Defeat leads to victory.

I drew this on 13 July and finished on 23 August 2020. Part of that time, I was on summer vacation, and the early stage of the painting was smudged by a pillow in the car.
